c.1933 Marx, Combination Thrift Dial Bank in Original Box
From the family of an ex-Marx employee comes this awesome pressed steel combination bank in unused, mint condition. Complete with original box, insert, and combination instructions. Following the design of a real combination safe it features a latching door with combination lock. It's painted with scarlet red with a teal green enamels, and features its original Thrift decal on the front. Attached to the underside are two pairs of wooden castor wheels on their original axles. Original box features a simple Marx text design and includes the earliest Marx logo on the front. Original combination directions were still attached to the bank when it was removed from the box. The instructions are stained in the center because it was laying on one of the axles. It also has its original insert. Beautiful, heavy and solid piece! Size: 4½" x 2½" x 3". Sold: Aug. 2005
